The Next Chapter

Ahh, you know how a few days turns into a few months here on the internet.

I've always hated moving, and yet, this move has been fantastic for me. It allowed me to reinfuse my social life, step away from the computer and do some things. Even get a job.

I know it's been quiet here. I needed to do a little soul searching, and recenter amidst the changes made in my life. I didn't feel the need to share that process with the entire world - and you can thank me later for not boring you with it.

With Spring, comes change. The air is crisp and cool, the sun is shining. Birds are singing and bees are buzzing. My window overlooks a thick copse of skinny native and ancient pecan trees. The introspection of Winter is past, and it's time to write again.

Or, in my case, REVISE REVISE REVISE.

While I enjoyed doing book reviews, and sharing a blog, I think that this next chapter requires a more solitary focus. I think I shall keep this up for the time being, and then slowly close it down. Why? I may have expressed my opinions too strongly - which is fine, if not encouraged, as a book reviewer, and perhaps a little inappropriate as an author.

At the end of the day, them folks be published, and me? Not YET. While doing those reviews helped me hone my craft, I am in no place to judge. I don't see a lot of published authors doing reviews as "strongly" as I was. Probably a reason for that...

What if I'm at a convention next to a notably more successful author whose works I criticized profusely? AWKWARD.

Part of which appeals to my sadistic nature, mind you, but that's neither here nor there. It's not professional.

We starving artists, we dream of publishing. It's our fantasy. It's what we obsess about. Enough dreaming and talking about it, I'm going to do it.

My next chapter is here, I'd love it if you stopped by. Otherwise, you have my warmest thanks and gratitude for the discussion and conversations and virtual friendships. Best of luck to you and yours.

Cheers!
